And while all of its beaches are worth a visit, the best of the bunch has to be Boca Chica State Park in Brownsville. The ocean next to Boca Chica is relatively calm. So, while it's not the ideal surfing spot, it is a solid place to swim. With camping nearby, it's a great spot for a weekend getaway.
