Just this week Wells Fargo introduced a new Visa rewards credit card called the Autograph Card which is set to be available for applications on July 13th.
The new card has no annual fee and offers the ability to earn some pretty decent rewards from everyday spending, with a few nice benefits added in as well.
In the article, I’m going to talk about the new Autograph credit card from Wells Fargo.
Basically, I’ll go over everything you need to know about this card from the APR and any associated fees to the signup bonus, benefits, and user perks.
Who Is This Card Good For?
Seeing as there is no annual fee with this card and the ability to quite easily earn rewards points, this card is good for pretty much anybody, wether you are new to credit cards or a seasoned pro, there is some value to be had just by using this card.
Sign-up Bonus
Now even though this a no annual fee card, it still has a pretty decent welcome offer.
Upon spending $1,500 within the first 3 months of card ownership it is possible to earn 30,000 bonus rewards points.
And with Wells Fargo Points being worth about 1 cent per point, this sign-up bonus is worth about $300, which is pretty good when compared to other no annual fee cards.
Points Earning Potential
Next up, earning points with the Autograph card is relatively straight forward.
It is possible to earn 3x points at the following business:
- Restaurants
- Gas stations
- Travel and Transit
- Phone plans
- Popular streaming services
All other purchases that are made on the card will be eligible to earn 1 point per dollar spent.
So earning 3x points with this card shouldn’t be too difficult as the list of eligible business is relatively broad.
Benefits, Perks, and Insurance Coverage
Now when it comes to benefits and perks, this card doesn’t really offer that much, but it does have a couple of insurance related perks that can come in handy.
So first of all there is an Auto Rental Collision Damage Waiver that provides secondary coverage within the US and primary coverage when traveling out side of the US.
And this covers up to $50,000 in the event of damage or theft of a rental vehicle.
When paying for your cell phone bill with the card there is Cell Phone Protection of up to $600 per claim, with each claim incurring a $25 deductible fee.
And this allows for a maximum of 2 claims in a 12 month period.
If the card gets lost, Wells Fargo offers Emergency Cash Disbursement and Card Replacement within 1 to 3 business days.
But just know that there will be a cash advance fee and interest charges if you do take advance of the cash disbursement.
There is access to 24/7 Visa Signature Concierge service which can be helpful in making dinner reservation, booking travel or even getting tickets to special events.
With access to the Visa Signature Luxury Hotel Collection, It is possible to receive a $25 food or beverage credit, room upgrade on arrival when available, complimentary breakfast for two, and late checkout upon requested when available.
APR
Now the Autograph card also comes with an introductory 0% APR for the first 12 months of card ownership which is available only on Purchases (not balance transfers).
After this period is up, the APR will revert to either 16.49%, 21.49% or 26.49%, depending on your creditworthiness.
For a Cash Advance the APR is 27.49% and will also incur a fee of either $10 or 5%, whichever amount is more.
And then a Balance Transfer will incur a fee of either $5 or 5%, again whichever amount is more.
Final Thoughts
So all in all, the new new Autograph card from Wells Fargo is a pretty decent card, but its not necessarily better than similar rewards cards that are on offer from other companies.
Its always worth looking into were you spend your money and what benefits suit your situation the most, doing this will help your get the most out of your credit card.
