The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless credit card from Chase has just increased its sign-up bonus for new card member’s from 3 free nights that are worth 150,000 Marriott Bonvoy points, up to 5 free nights that are worth 250,000 Marriott Bonvoy points.

In this article, I’m going to review the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless credit card.
Basically, I’ll talk about the current sign-up bonus and how to receive it, and then everything else the card has to offer from benefits and user perks to insurance-related coverage.

Who is This Credit Card Good For?

So first of all, who is the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless credit card most suitable for?

This card is perfect for anybody looking to get a ton of value from their hotel stays at Marriott properties.
Just the sign-up bonus alone is worth up to $2,000, which for a credit card that has an annual fee of just $95, is fantastic value.
With the option to choose from over 7,000 properties that include 30 different brands such as The Ritz Carlton, St Regis, and Le Meridian, it shouldn’t be too hard to find a nice place to stay.

APR

Now as with most of my videos I’ll just go over what the current APR is for this card and what fees you can expect if you get a cash advance or do a balance transfer.

So currently the APR for purchases and balance transfers is between 16.74% to 23.74%, and with a balance transfer, there is also a fee of either $5 or 5% of the amount of each transfer which amount is more.
The APR for a Cash Advance is 25.74%, and also comes with a fee of either $10 or 5% of the amount of each cash advance, again which amount is more.

There are no Foreign Transaction Fees.
And then finally, if you fail to make a minimum payment by the due date or have a payment returned by your bank, there is a likely chance that you will be put on a Penalty APR of 29.99%, and there will be a fee of up to $40 for each penalty.

Annual Fee

Now as I mentioned at the beginning of this article, the annual fee for the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless credit card is just $95.
And if you are able to get and utilize the signup bonus that is currently on offer it presents a value of 21 times the cost of the annual fee, which is pretty amazing.

Sign Up Bonus

So now let’s talk about the current sign-up bonus that is on offer.
If you’re able to spend a total of $5,000 in the first 3 months of card ownership, you can earn 5 free night award certificates which are worth 250,000 Marriott points, or up to $2,000 in value.
A few things to know about the 5 Free Night Award E-Certificates.
They are valid for 12 months from the date of issue and are valid at Marriott properties that have a redemption level up to 50,000 points.
Also, this sign-up bonus it is not available to you if you currently have a Marriott Bonvoy Premier credit card, Marriott Bonvoy Boundless credit card, or if you have received a sign-up bonus from either of these cards in the past 24 months.
And then if you have the Marriott Bonvoy American Express, card, Marriott Bonvoy Business American Express Card, or Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express Card you will not be eligible for this benefit.

Earning Points

Now let’s take a quick look at how you can earn points with the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless credit card.
When staying at Marriott properties it is possible to earn 17x points per dollar spent.
Then a new points earning benefit that has been included with the card is the ability to earn 3x points for purchases at grocery stores, gas stations, and dining up to a total spend of $6,000 per year.
And then all other purchases that are made on the card will earn 2x points per dollar spent.

Benefits and Perks

So one of the main perks of this card is the ability to earn a Free Night Award each card anniversary.
And this is valid to be used at any Marriott Property that has a redemption level of up to 35,000 points.
So based on the fact that points are worth about 0.8 cents per point, this benefit is worth about $280.
Also, it is only valid for 12 months from the date of issuance.

Then there is automatic Silver Elite Status each year, and this provides perks at Marriott properties that include late checkout, free wifi, and 10% bonus points when staying at Marriott properties.

Next up, cardholders will receive 15 Elite Night Credits each year and the ability to earn 1 additional Elite Night Credit for every $5,000 that is spent on the card.
And this basically helps you to achieve a higher status level, with Gold Status requiring 25 nights to qualify.

And then finally there is access to Visa Signature Concierge, which operates 24 hours a day and provides services such as finding hard to acquire tickets to different events, dinner reservations, or can help organize a nice gift for someone.

Insurance Coverage

Now seeing that the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless credit card is a Visa Signature card, you will also get a few nice insurance-related perks.

The first is Purchase Protection, which provides 120 days of coverage on new purchases against damage or theft up to $500 per claim and $50,000 per account.

Then from here, there are 3 different travel-related insurance benefits.
Starting with Trip Delay Reimbursement which can provide up to $500 per ticket if a trip is delayed for more than 12 hours.
Then there is Baggage Delay Insurance which provides up to $100 a day for 5 days if your luggage is delayed for more than 6 hours by a passenger carrier
And finally, there is Lost Luggage Reimbursement, which covers up to $3,000 per passenger if your checked or carry-on luggage is either damaged or lost by the carrier.

Final Thoughts

So considering the impressive signup bonus and the Free Night Award that you will earn each anniversary year, I think that this card is great value.
It should make your travel that much more enjoyable knowing that you have some form of insurance coverage with your luggage, and purchase protection up to a total of $50,000 each year.
