Sometimes having a credit card with an expensive annual fee is not what you’re looking for and therefore not worth it.
And for this reason, I have decided to put together a list of my favorite no-annual-fee credit cards for 2022.
In this article, I’m going to talk about some of the best no annual fee credit cards available right now that are worth considering for 2022.
They all offer a sign-up bonus and have some nice benefits and user perks.
1. Chase Freedom Flex
Sign-up Bonus: 20,000 bonus points that are worth $200 in Cash Back

So the first card on this list is the Chase Freedom Flex card, and this is a great cash-back credit card that is well suited to anybody that is new to credit cards, or anybody the is just looking for a credit card that has the ability to earn a decent amount of cash-back from a wide variety options.
Sign-up Bonus
Now the sign-up bonus that is on offer with this card is currently 20,000 bonus points that can be redeemed for $200 cash back, and this is available after you spend $500 on purchases within the first 3 months of opening the account.
Earning Cash Back
Now earning cash back with this card is pretty good and has quite a few options to earn from.
First of all, you can earn 5% cash back on grocery store purchases up to a total of $12,000 within the first year of card ownership, which is worth up to $600.
Next up you can earn 5% cash back on travel purchases that are made through Chase Ultimate Rewards.
You will earn 3% cash-back from dining at restaurants and on drugstore purchases.
And finally, all other purchases will receive 1% cash back.
Along with this points earning structure, you will also have the ability to earn 5% cash back on up to $1,500 each quarter on select categories.
Benefits and Perks
So the benefits that come with this card are pretty good considering it has no annual fee.
First of all, you will receive a free 3-month DoorDash subscription.
You will earn 5% cash back on all Lyft Rides through March 2022.
And seeing that this card is part of Mastercard World Elite Benefits, you will also get the following perks.
A $5 credit if you ride with Lyft 3 times per month.
5% back when you get a HelloFresh meal kit delivery.
A $5 Fandango credit when you spend $20 at Fandango.
And finally, you will receive a free 1-year ShopRunner membership that provides free 2-day shipping and free returns to over 100 stores across the US.
2. Quicksilver from Capital One
Sign-up Bonus: $200
APR: 0% for the first 15 months, then a variable APR of 14.99% – 24.99%.
Now the second card on this list is the Quicksilver card from Capital One, and this card has a nice cash back bonus and offers unlimited cash-back on all purchases.
Sign-up Bonus
So the sign-up bonus that comes with this card is pretty much the same as the Chase Freedom Flex card.
Currently, it offers a $200 cash bonus after you spend $500 on purchases within the first 3 months of opening the account.
Earning Cash Back
Now earning cash-back from this card is very simple.
Basically, you will earn unlimited 1.5% cash-back on all purchases that are made on the card.
Benefits and Perks
In terms of benefits, this card comes with quite a lot of insurance-related coverage.
First of all, you will be covered by travel accident insurance.
There is a 24-hour travel assistance service that can send out an emergency replacement card and cash advance if needed.
You will get extended warranty protection on eligible items that are purchased with the card.
There are no foreign transaction fees.
And finally, you will have $0 fraud liability, so if you lose your card or it is stolen, you won’t be responsible for any unauthorized charges that are made to your account.
3. Hilton Honors Amex Card
Sign-up Bonus: 130,000 Hilton Honors Bonus Points
APR: Variable APR between 15.74% to 24.74%
So the third card on this list is the Hilton Honors Amex card, and this is a great card for earning hotel reward points and elite status all with no annual fee.
Sign-up Bonus
Now the sign-up bonus that is offered with this card is pretty good and just happens to be the most valuable bonus on this list.
Basically, there are two options for earning the full sign-up bonus.
First of all, you will earn 80,000 Hilton Honors bonus points after you spend $1,000 within the first 3 months of opening the account.
The second way to earn the full bonus offer is by spending a total of $5,000 within 6 months of card ownership, and this will earn you an extra 50,000 bonus points.
So all up you can earn a total of 130,000 Hilton Honors Bonus Points, and with Hilton Honors points being worth approximately 0.5 cents per point, this sign-up bonus is worth about $650.
Earning Points
So when it comes to earning points, the Hilton Honors Card has a few options.
First of all, you will earn 7x points at hotels and resorts that are part of the Hilton portfolio.
You will then earn 5x points on dining, at grocery stores, and at gas stations in the US.
And finally, all other purchases will earn 3x points per dollar spent.
So this card does offer a pretty decent ability to earn points from a wide variety of places.
Benefits and Perks
Now when it comes to benefits, the Hilton Honors Amex Card has some pretty good options.
First of all, you will get complimentary Hilton Honors Silver status which gives you a 20% points earning bonus when you book and stay at a Hilton property.
You will receive the fifth night free at a Hilton Property when you use just points to make a booking.
And if you are able to spend more than $20,000 in a calendar year, you will be eligible to upgrade to Hilton Honors Gold Status, which has even more perks than what you get with the Silver status.
Next up you will get car rental loss and damage insurance which will cover up to $50,000 in the event your rental vehicle is damaged or stolen.
There is extended warranty protection that provides an additional 1 extra year of coverage on purchases that are made from within the US and have a warranty of 5 years or less.
You will get purchases protection the covers you for 90 days and up to $1,000 per purchase and up to a total of $50,000 per card per year.
And finally, there are no foreign transaction fees.
4. Wells Fargo Active Cash Card
Sign-up Bonus: $200
APR: 0% for the first 15 months, then a variable APR of either 14.99%, 19.99%, or 24.99%.
The 4th card on this list is the Wells Fargo Active cash card, and similar to the first 2 cards on this list, it also offers a 0% APR for the first 15 months of card ownership.
Sign-up Bonus
The sign-up bonus that comes with this card is also similar to the first 2 cards on this list except it requires twice the spend amount.
Currently, the Wells Fargo Active Cash card is offering a $200 cash reward bonus after you spend $1,000 within the first 90 days of card ownership.
Earning Cash Back
Now earning cashback with this card is very easy.
Basically, you will earn 2% cash back on all purchases that are made with the card.
Benefits and Perks
The Wells Fargo Active Cash Card also has a few decent offerings when it comes to benefits and user perks.
First of all, you will get cell phone protection of up to $600 that covers damage or theft, as long as you pay for your monthly cell phone bill with the card.
You will also have zero liability protection that covers you for any unauthorized charges that are made to your card as long as you report them quickly.
And seeing that this is a Visa Signature card, you will be part of the Luxury Hotel Collection, which includes benefits at select properties such as an automatic room upgrade when available, complimentary breakfast for 2, a $25 food or beverage credit, late check-in and late check-out upon request, when available.
5. Citi Custom Cash Card
Sign-up Bonus: $200
APR: 0% for the first 15 months, then a variable APR of between 13.99% – 23.99%.

So the last card on this list is the Citi Custom Cash card, and like most of the cards on this list, it is great for anybody that is new to credit cards as it offers a 15 month 0% introductory APR.
Sign-up Bonus
Now the sign-up bonus for this card is $200 cash-back after you spend $750 on purchases within the first 3 months of opening the account.
Earning Points
So when it comes to earning cash back you will earn 5% cash-back on up to $500 each billing cycle in your top eligible spend category, and this is a wide range of options that include restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, and select travel.
Once you have reached the $500 limit each billing cycle all purchases will receive 1% cashback
Benefits and Perks
Now the benefits of this card are pretty good.
First of all, you will get access to the Citi Entertainment program, and this is a service that is provided by Citibank that gives you access to a whole variety of different experiences, some of which include concerts and sporting events.
You will be covered by $0 liability in the event that there are any unauthorized charges that are made to your card.
There is Citi quick-lock which gives you the ability to instantly block any new charges that are made to your card if you accidentally misplace it, and best of all this doesn’t affect any recurring charges that you may have set up on your account.
And finally, you will receive free access to your FICO score with no impact on your score.
